CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LEADERS FOR 2017

Our heartfelt congratulations go out today to our fabulous new team of school leaders for 2017.

It was an exceptionally tough job to choose from the multitude of wonderful applications we received and we are already impressed with the leadership shown by all the members of the Senior School over our first few weeks.

ICAS PRACTISE PAPERS FOR SENIORS

The ICAS tests begin at the end of May.  Please see the office should you wish to enter your child for these.

Fun in the Sun!

As it was so sunny today room 22 and 23 decided to play a game of dodgeball whilst others could sit in the shade and read. What a lovely start to week 4!

Cool things we have been up to this week!

Our first technicraft rotation began and this group made omelettes....


This Friday we had a visit for one group of students from Peter & Sam from the Roxy5 Short Film competition - the students will work on their films with Mrs Hooke & enter them at the end of the term...

Muritai School Leadership Roles for 2017

Head Boy/Girl and Deputies
Duties:
  • Liaising with Mrs Borgonje, teachers and principal on student matters
  • Give out student certificates at assembly
  • Taking an important role in formal school events
  • Greeting new visitors to the school and showing them around
  • Giving out house points to children in junior school
  • Once a week on duty and give out playground certificate
  • Representing the school and official occasions e.g ANZAC day
  • Running meetings with other student leaders
  • Writing and delivering end of year speeches at Year 8 formal

  • Setting up chairs for assembly
  • Setting up and testing microphones

Duties:

  • Managing enviro blog
  • Organising school wide gardening club

Duties:
  • Liaise with Mrs. Borgonje
  • Manage whole Muritai TV process (including, creating ideas, scripting hosting and editing)

  • Presenting Muritai TV items in assembly
  • End of term news item – terms highlights for assembly
  • Managing all resources
Some of the Qualities required:
  • Tech savvy  - particularly in operating video cameras, ipods, microphones and using imovie

Sports Ambassadors
Duties:
  • Liaise with Mrs. Small
  • Supporting Mr. McKay and Mrs. Small in the management of PE equipment throughout the school
  • Assisting in organisation of inter-school events
  • Taking leadership roles and assisting teachers in junior sports events
  • Organising lunch time games
  • Contribute to school newsletters to report on sporting events
  • Ensuring parent and teacher coaches are formally acknowledged and thanked for their time
  • Managing sport equipment in Senior School

Duties:
